Welcome to the page of the Tomoka Faceter’s Guild ~
Our purpose is to promote and support the art of faceting through sharing and teaching, with a special focus in introducing others to this special hobby.
The Tomoka Faceter’s Guild
Monthly meetings of the Guild are 7:30pm the 3rd Thursday of each month. Meetings are now held at the Florida Hospital Deland. and visitors are welcome! Click on Updates (above) for full information and travel directions.
Each meeting includes a main instructional topic, Demos, “Cut of the Month and Show and Tell” where we show each other stones we’ve recently cut, share ideas, ask and answer questions, have WinGemCad instruction, etc., all with the emphasis on keeping it light and enjoyable! TGMS Dues are $20.00 per year, and an added $15.00 is required to join the Guild.
CLASSES: All Members of the Guild are eligible to attend all classes offered. For beginners, we offer Faceting 101, a 3-hour introduction to the art of faceting, which explains the Rudiments of Faceting and the basic operation of a faceting machine. This is the pre-requisite to “Cutting Your First Stone,” an 8-hour Class which takes a new cutter all the way from start to finish on faceting their first gemstone.
In addition, instruction is offered from time to time on various other advanced topics, ranging from Mastering the Ceramic Lap to WinGemCad.
