Cut of the Month -
The Tomoka Faceter's Guild puts out a subscription newsletter for advancing Faceter's skills and on what makes for "best cuts". This is a continuing learning series on the things we as Faceter’s can control in gem designs such as optimized angles for best face up and tilt brilliance and higher facet count designs including split mains, odd geometry, and highlighted breaks for maximum scintillation.
All work includes GemCad diagrams, GemRayX analysis, BOG angle optimization, and where possible, digital photography. We are collecting quite a series of "best cuts". This started as a service to our local members and expanded to include non local subscribers. Authored by Phil Stonebrook, this newsletter is distributed by email attachment in .pdf format. A free reader may be obtained from www.adobe.com. We currently have subscribers from all over the nation and internationally as well. If this interests you, please send check to treasurer:
